Things you should know about the greenhouse banquet

before you sign the contract.

Our greenhouse facilities are very unique and very beautifully all year, with large trees, flowers, waterfall and lots of special lighting.

The structure is not like a usual building, it is similar to a tent but not quite. You will not be rained upon, though a drip here and there away from your guests are quit common. When it does rain, it will make a sound on the roof. under normal rainfalls, the sound is quite pleasant and the sound system can easily drown out the rain. However when a thunderstorm goes by and it comes down hard, the sound of the rain can be quit loud from falling on the roof and it becomes sometime hard to hear the speeches or the music. These rainfalls are rare and usually last only 20 minutes or so and things are back to normal.

Sometimes the wind can also be very strong, but cannot damage the roof (build in 1975 these greenhouses have gone through a lot of different weather) however a sudden gust or strong winds will make the structure move a little.

In the summer months there is also the question about the heat. The greenhouses build to let the sun in, for the sake of the plants, that also heats up the greenhouses. Therefore until sundown it sometime becomes hard to keep the greenhouses cool. The greenhouse Banquet has large cooling fans which are very effective and also very quiet making it quite bearable. As the sun goes down it is the same temperature inside the greenhouses as it is outside as the greenhouses do not retain the heat. We have done weddings for over 15 years and always done more weddings in the summer months than any other time of the year. In the year 2001 25 banquets in the 3 summer months alone. The heat however is just something you should be aware of, it is not air conditioned and you may think to dress accordingly.

In the winter the Greenhouse Banquet is heated with overhead radian heat. This does create some hot and some cold spots. We know where they are and therefore avoid them when setting up for the function. Again it is a question about dressing according to the season, like bringing a shawl or jacket, things that can be taken off or on if need be. Yet in the coldest night of the winter, it is still very comfortable.

There is also the question about the "noise" level. As the roof is made of plastic, every sound goes right through it and if to loud can be heard as far away as 500 meters. we promised the town that we would keep the noise to a minimum, and yet still assuring our guests that the level of the music is more than adequate for having a great time. However if you are a person that likes to have a wild time, our place is not for you. Further more we are under the restriction that every function stop at 1am sharp.
